Do you know where "the cradle of the human race" is? Let's discover it Have you ever heard of the fossilized remains of the hominid, named Dinqnesh (in Amharic, meaning "thou art wonderful", nicknamed "Lucy" by europeans). It is one of the oldest known ancestors of Homo sapiens, technically known as Australopithecus Afarensis, discovered in the Afar area of Ethiopia in 1974. The fossil has been determined to be 3.8 million years. Supplemented by many other discoveries, it gained Ethiopia the nomenclature of "cradle of the human race". Ethiopia, whose legendary history goes as far back as at least 1000 BC, is one of the oldest nations of the world with a continuous history. Ethiopia is mentioned about 40 times in the Holy Bible, as well as in the Book of the Prophet Mohammed, the Hadith. Tags: Ethiopia Archiological Archiology Lucy |
